What Bay Bilt is

Bay Bilt (baybilt.com, operated by Bay Bilt Home Services) is a local home-services referral and information platform serving Contra Costa County, California. Bay Bilt helps homeowners, landlords, property managers, and other property decision-makers submit project requests and connect with independent local service professionals. Bay Bilt does not perform construction, repair, maintenance, or installation work itself.

Independent service providers

Service providers connected through Bay Bilt are independent businesses. They are not employees, agents, partners, or contractors of Bay Bilt, and Bay Bilt does not supervise, direct, or control their work. Bay Bilt is not a party to any agreement, estimate, contract, or transaction between you and a service provider — pricing, scheduling, scope of work, and quality of work are matters between you and the provider you choose to hire.

Homeowners and property managers are responsible for independently verifying a provider's licensing, insurance, qualifications, references, and pricing before hiring. Bay Bilt does not warrant or guarantee the work, conduct, licensing status, insurance coverage, or qualifications of any provider unless Bay Bilt has specifically and explicitly represented otherwise in writing.

Submitting a project request

When you submit a project request, you're asking Bay Bilt to review the details and look for a relevant local service provider. Submitting a request does not guarantee that a provider will be available, that a provider will contact you, or that your project will be completed. There is no cost to homeowners or property managers to submit a project request.

You agree to provide accurate information in your project request and to only submit requests for projects you have the authority to request work on (for example, as the property owner, an authorized property manager, or a tenant with permission).

Acceptable use

You agree not to use baybilt.com to:

  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent project requests or contractor applications
  • Attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the site
  • Scrape, harvest, or misuse contact information found on the site
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your relationship to a property
  • Use the site for any unlawful purpose

Service provider applications

Businesses that apply to become a Bay Bilt service provider agree to provide accurate information about their business, licensing, insurance, and service areas. Acceptance as a service provider is at Bay Bilt's discretion and does not create an employment, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship between Bay Bilt and the provider. Bay Bilt does not guarantee any specific volume or frequency of project referrals to a provider.

Content and information

Project guides, cost information, and other content on baybilt.com are provided for general informational purposes and are not a substitute for advice from a licensed professional. Pricing information reflects general ranges and is not a quote, estimate, or offer from Bay Bilt. [LEGAL REVIEW RECOMMENDED] — confirm this disclaimer language adequately limits reliance on published cost ranges.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bay Bilt is not liable for any damages, losses, or disputes arising from work performed, not performed, or performed inadequately by an independent service provider, or from your reliance on information published on baybilt.com. [LEGAL REVIEW RECOMMENDED] — this section requires attorney drafting to be enforceable and appropriately scoped under California law.
